Here is some text from the AutoExpress Site:
The future looks bright for Alfa Romeo as its stylists put the finishing touches to the all-new 157. The current issue of Auto Express magazine carries the first photographs of the radical machine, due on sale late in 2004. Based on leaked reports from inside the Italian firm, our pictures prove the newcomer has been heavily inspired by the Brera concept, which was revealed at last year's Geneva Motor Show.
Aimed at rivals such as the BMW 3-Series and Audi A4, the 157 will blend high style with involving road manners. Penned by Italian design legend Giorgetto Giugiaro, the car will actually be based on the recently revealed Alfa GT Coupé, which made its public debut at this year's Swiss spectacular. Power will come from a range of direct-injection petrol and diesel engines, including a revised 3.2-litre V6 petrol and a new 3.0-litre V6 oil-burner sourced from technical partner General Motors, giving the car impressive levels of refinement.
Inside, too, there will be a host of changes - the new 157 is expected to be one of the most luxurious Alfas yet. Those close to the project say the interior will mix traditional design with hi-tech equipment including sat-nav and automatic lights and windscreen wipers.
Both manual and six-ratio Selespeed gearboxes are likely to be offered, although in keeping with the marque's sporting reputation, there will be no conventional automatic. And while prices have yet to be discussed, insiders suggest the car will carry a premium of at least £2,000 over the current 156. However, bosses have big plans for the new machine. The 157 has already been tipped as the car that will spearhead Alfa's return to the US market. Dan Strong
Off Topic: ... Few funny stories to add to Pajero and kamala thread.
1.) There was a vacuum cleaner advertising in a Finnish magazine in the 70's, that said the following in english:
"Nothing Sucks like Electrolux"
(I guess it was cool to use english and they did not know the second meaning of the word)
2.) The Finnish crispy bread was not a big hit in english speaking countries. The name of the bread was "Vaasan Rapee" = "Vasa's Crispy"
