Re: 156 Sportwagon
I have a 2.0ts Sportwagon. Great car to drive, I've had a Celica (GT4) and Supra (Original 80's 2.8 Celica Supra) and 99 Corolla in the past. Supra handled like a Minky Whale, Celica was a hoot and bloody quick but agree space wise very limited. In the Alfa you get proper back seats so you can carry people who aren't descended from Gnomes. Boot wise don't expect Volvo levels of load lugging ability. It's a stylish estate and as such the shape of the load space is compromised, but get the seats down and you can still carry a shed load more than would be possible in the Celica.
Up front you'll probably feel its a lot roomier as you're not encased by center tunnel. The dash feels a bit more special to look at as well (depending on the colour combo you already have) as with the Celica switchgear you could easily be sitting in a base model, late 90's Corolla.... You will have to adjust mentally to the feeling of sitting slightly higher up and a slightly awkward driving position (for me anyway), you don't feel quite as snug in the Alfa because the seats just don't go down far enough especially compared to something like a Celica.
I'd highly recommend one to you. They are great looking, great to drive and not as bad you might fear if you just make sure you go for one thats been looked after, had belts done, serviced regularly and personal choice would definitely be to get one with Leather. Don't forget that you also get a lovely dog net for the back thrown in!
