Re: 156 sportwagon 02 1.8ts
yeah I agree smaky ive read loads of bull about the maf ... its deffo not that.
As for the lamda sensors... I have had the engine hooked up to fiat / Alfa computer thing an the geezer said that there appears to be no faults with the running of the engine... the maf seems fine... would a lamda sensor fault show up on the diagnostics....
I have had the exhaust changed 6 months ago.... by alfa in knutsford, Cheshire. It cost about 700 quid, they had to replace the catalytic conveter end ( its the exhaust were there are 2 cats). But I cant recall any difference in performance prior to that.
It has been suggested to me that the timing belt might be out...even if the belt is out by a tooth, it can affect the running...and when I thought on I did have a garage change the variator and cam belt recently... but it would appear that they never changed the timing belt...obviously in my ignorance at the time... I forgot to ask, and the garage ripped me off a little..!
Further more, the fuel consumption appears rubbish, according to the trip computer i hardly ever get over 30, its always around 20 - 25mpg, is that normall or could that be a timing belt issue?
i just dont want to pay loads out for a problem that could be easily fixed by someone who knows what they are doing !!!
any suggestions would be appreciatted ... or any one know a garage in or near to the liverpool area...
