Did the article make any mention of whether Alfa knew this was a magazine car? I imagine so, and guess they acted differently accordingly.
btw: Has anyone actually ever spoken to ARUK customer service? What a contradiction in terms that is....
I rang them to ask if there was a known weakness with 166 rear suspension, and was told "Sir, there is nobody technical that we can put you in touch with, we mainly deal with sending out brochures." What a great service that is to your existing customers.
