I just have such a bad feeling about it lol...
Had MAF probs (disconnect, worked fined, reconnected, stuttery etc when cold) that went away - but have now come back.
In addition, the cold weather is really making this worse.
Notic a slight screetch after starting up from cold and touching clutch when slightly accelerating (ie gear change).
This isn't there when not using the clutch, and also later in the day - it's not there either, or once the car has been running for a bit (warmed up).
I read possibly clutch release bearing - however - something about damp/condensation? on the aux belt causing this too? would make more sense as the sound is gone once she's warmed up - or its not as cold when im starting her up.
Main thing is the MAF problem now I think, have pm'd PcBuild as he offered me his a while back (hope he still has) because of the really cold weather I think it's really exagerating the problem now, and I need to sit and let the car warm up for a bit before I can pull away properly.
The only other way, is to get some revs up first (1,500ish) and then slide the gear in that way and accelerate off. This gets over the inital pull away problem first thing in the morning.
Real lack of funds at the moment, rely on the car for work, so I really can't afford any kind of repairs to her at the moment (certainly can't afford for her to die on me!)
Had a dream the other night a huge plume of brown/black smoke burst out the exhaust as I watched through the rear window...
Never had any engine management light probs etc although I'm sure I once noticed/though I saw/heard a connector on the top of the battery pop/crackle - maybe I need a new battery? could this be related to the other issues?
