156 Engine gone (1.6) - any ideas?
My '52 reg 1.6 156 has just had the engine go; it started with the 'limp home mode', then the cambelt snapped and the valves are bent. My local garage is quoting me £1000 MIN. I reckon it's worth about £1400 in p/x with 110k on the clock and otherwise perfect condition.
Should I shop around for the work (new gasket, valves, skimming etc) or just scrap the thing? If so, any ideas where I can get rid for a decent price?
It has immaculate black momo leather interior, walnut steering wheel & gear knob, new clutch, spotless alloys etc - I thought I might sell it for parts or someone who will repair themselves?
