AlfaDiag Fault Codes - Can Anyone Help
Had my first experience today of using Alfadiag - seems very good, and I also purchased the serial lead as recommended from ecufix.com.
My car has had an intermittent missfire for a few weeks now, so I decided to purchase the alfadiag software, thinking maybe it may of some use in the future, as I plan to keep my 156 for a while!
With the key in the MAR position and my laptop and lead plugged into the diagnotic socket, I managed to read the following faults and codes from the ECU:
P0110 - Air Temperature Sensor (below minimum limit - event count 53).
P0100 - Air Flow Meter (below minimum limit - event count 59).
I am guessing that these are at fault and will need replacing, but not sure what the "event count" means? Maybe the number of times the component has failed???
I then started the car with the lead still plugged in and ran a few of the diagnostic tests, such as the low speed fan, high speed fan, fuel pump relay etc, which was quite impressive.
When the engine was stopped, and the key put back into the "MAR" position, I re-read the fault codes. This time, the software read 4 fault codes. I also noticed that the "CODE" light and engine management light was illuminated on the dashboard (injector light), which didn't happen first time around. In addition to the above faults, I then had the following fault codes infront of me:
P0130 - Lambda Sensor #1 (signal not valid - event count 64)
U1600 - Immobiliser (signal not plausable - event count 64)
I noticed that the car would then not start, with the lead and laptop still connected. These were then disconnected with the ignition off, then the car restarted with no problems and no warning lamps!
I find it strange that #1 Lambda sensor all of a sudden appeared as a fault after I done the first test, so am I right in saying that the lambda sensor, air flow meter and air temperature sensor are all at fault?
Any help would be greatly appreciated - I am new to all this diagnostic software!
