I wouldn't go as far as a knocking noise, but the engine didn't sound well, probably for obvious reasons. If im honest I was kinda hoping not to have to do anything to the bottom end. How likely is it that i have caused damage there do you think?, the piston does have quite a bit of marking from where the valve has dropped, but it doesnt look terrible, i was planning on just needle filing any burs and consentrating on the head. But as I said, never done anything with the bottom so wouldn't be diffinatively sure that nothings happened, i did take 200ml of water out of cylinder 2 and 3, so maybe I have done something. But you know far more about this than me Smaky, so what you say will be what ill do. when the engineering firm do the head will they replace that valve, or do i need to dismantle it before they take it, and then they will just do work on the metal body?
