welcome to another Oz member.
19s will fit, so long as you have a suitable wheel width and offset and tyre size. a width of 7.5~8.0" should be fine, with an offset around +35 to +40mm .
tyre size can be 225/35 depending upon the required minimum 'load index' for the car. this will be written on the sticker inside the door jam. i've found that a quality 225/35 tyre offers a load index of up to 88. if this is lower than the specified requirement, it is technically 'unroadworthy' and will have implications on insurance. so if you need an LI higher, you'd have to go with a 235/35 tyre (91), which warrants an 8.0" wide wheel (or wider).
on my GT, i run 225/35 on 19s (will be forced to change to 235/35 tyres), on 19x8.5" wheels, offset +35mm, 5x98mm PCD bolt pattern. perfect fit. i'm not 100% sure if the non-GTA 147 has exactly the same wheel clearance - probably does.
my wheels were imported and special order btw. there is not much off-the-shelf here, though with the 2.0L, you don't have to contend with the big Brembo brake calipers, so it will be considerably easier. consider fitting 5x100 wheels, using 'wobbly bolts'. i really like some of the BBS wheels, which are very nice quality too.
lastly, the car will only look good if it's lowered too. and worth upgrading the shocker absorbers too, cos the ride comfort and suspension control may be borderline already, and will only be worse with heavier wheel-tyre combo. less chance of buckling a wheel if the suspension is less 'crashy'.
IMO - and most others - chromies are a no-no.
so hopefully it's not what you have in mind!
