My fellow Alfa lovers, wink
My current 147 has the Eibach suspension, wich also means it's about 30mm lower than a standard 147.
I've driven the standard in all engine versions (OK, always just one day...my bella was in repair/maintenance) and the standard suspension is just too soft. Especialy the JTD has a realy weak front suspension. But yes this is comfy...
I was quite disappointed with the ride quality of the 147 JTD, but there was a possibility to alter the lease 147 with an Eibach kit.
So I drove a 147 1.6 (120hp) with 17" and the Eibach suspension.
It was marvelous!
This car had about the same feedback and sportiness as the M5 (e34) I drove, the grip and cornerspeed could be even better/higher!
-Much better steeringfeel (17" makes a big difference also)
-Grip and cornerspeed feel like up 50%!
-Looks improved greatly (what a difference this 3cm makes...)
-Less comfort. You'll know on what surface you drive, always! But you don't need kidney protection, it's not that bad. And you'll get used to it.
-Ride height. My worsed enemy? Speed bumps.
Ask yourself what kind of driver you are...
If you love to race on trackdays (and take some corners on public roads) and always want a sporty ride... you'll love this setup. wink
