Re: Diesel consumption
Hi, just done a 300 mile return to Norwich on my 1.9jtd with 2500k on the clock and the (optomistic) average shows about 41 mpg, this is was pretty much all motorway mileage, nothing more than 80mph (but mostly much less) and very gentle acceloration (er indoors can't abide the "firm" ride and the Rover is still sans driveshaft..
For those with higher mileage 1.9 owners, how long did it take you to get more than 40mpg combined average?
I currently run my tyre pressures at 2.8/2.7 bar on my 18", does anyone have any observations on the relationship between wheel sizes and MPG? All those with factory 16" getting 50+MPG and ragging the hell out of it whilst those fools (such as myself) with 18"+ driving like James May and getting 25MPG on a run?
Given the lack of ride comfort and the poor MPG, I'm serioulsy considering chopping in the alloys for something more comfortable!
Thoughts would be appreciated!
