If you still want to replace the badge and don't want to spend too much I have a solution as the same thing happened to me a while back on my 147.
I thought that the £50 or so the dealer wanted to fit a small piece of plastic back onto my car was bloody expensive so I decided to do it myself. It's worth pointing out at this point that I have little or no car DIY experience!
I bought just the plastic badge and the sheer bolts for the car which came to about £8 I think.
Firstly I had to remove the plastic from the inside of the boot cover - which wasn't too hard. Then I 'very' carefully drilled out the existing sheer bolts and removed any excess from the holes (which was quite hard).
Then it was just a case of attatching the new badge, spring and 'lever' to the lock assembly and screwing in the sheer bolts, again carefully. They will 'sheer' off once the right torque is reached and that's it!
Sounds a bit of a hastle and to be honest I did have help from my dad and brother who are far more practical than me - but niether are mechanics! The whole proces only took about half an hour and saved me £40.
I really am a cheap skate!
