Clutch pedal intermittently collapses

Hi Guys,
I've got a 147 GTA 6 speed... great ride but the clutch pedal intermittently collapses if I have not driven the car for a few days. Sometimes its fine other times catches differently.

Any ideas why?

Re: Clutch pedal intermittently collapses

If you are not losing fluid, this is almost certainly the master cylinder seal that prevents flow back to the reservoir that is not doing its job. May have failed to seal or perhaps there's something in the fluid that's preventing a seal.

New master cylinder (there may be a kit to do the seals but TBH I don't think it's worth the hassle). Time for a fluid change perhaps too. Shouldn't be too expensive.

If the pedal colapses and does not return by itslef (i.e. you need to pull it up) you probably need to replace the slave cylinder.

Re: Clutch pedal intermittently collapses

Slave cylinder? Master cylinder? if it's not a similar sufferer to the 166's pedal faults, I guess it has to be the lipped seals in one or the other failing? Replaced both in my hydrostatic Themas clutch hydraulics. The master seals in situ, believe it or not! The rod end, back set anyway.:
