Re: Advice on removing the door card off a 147.
To be honest i dont know if you need to remove the door card as i know nothiong about what youre trying to do. But if you do, do a search for 147 door card removal and theres a very handy picture that shows the back of the door card with all the fixings highlighted, this helped me a lot.
The only bit that is a pain in the arse is removing the plastic plug at the top of the handle, the groove where your thumb goes when you pull the door closed. It needs to be levered out but the plastic of the plug and the handle is very soft and so you cant just stick a screwdriver in and lever it out without damaging! I found that you could just about get away with no damage by using a stanley knife to open the gap between the plug and handle then carefully inserting a small flathead screwdriver and using that to prise it out. As i found you cant lever with the knife blade as it just snaps off! Obviously i cant garentee this will work perfectly but thats the way i found to work when i did it.
Other than that small obstacle the rest is just screws, allenkeys and poppers and a fair bit of jiggery pokery to get the card off once its not attatched.
