all cheeky replies will be appreciated!
but seriously, fundamentally all we've done is taken out battery and sele reservoir, and disconnected sele pump outlet (were defeated by bolt on inlet to pump, so just put everything back together again.)
99% confident that all went back on fine, and in about 1/50th of the time!
-pump is priming, sounded a bit dodgy first time and took about 20 secs!!!, then resumed normal brief bursts each time driver door was opened, but only a few times.
-computer check is on, but not giving ok message (just helpfully going on to provide date and time as if nothing's wrong.
-clicking from ignition, 'you ain't got a gear' beep audible, but gearbox sounds like it is then selecting one itself (presumably 1st; nothing on display.)
-i think starter motor is working, need to confirm this when next venture into garage - had to come in for a reviving cup of tea.
-also, driver window was down, it did go up but very slowly.
hope this is something obvious.
put battery on charge as matter of course.
i'm wondering though, if engine management is unhappy with selespeed, so refusing to start until problem is resolved; this was the behavior before. usual technique of tapping pump has failed to help...
but not even slightly
, have gone beyond all that and into zen-like state (or possibly, 'we've only got ourselves to blame' state.)
thanks to fellow scots on forum, i think today we finally found a skilled mechanic who'll be willing to take a look though (after 3 months - irony, much?)
unfortunately, he isn't within walking distance.
