Alfa 147 2.0 sump replacement process

Due to a comedy of driving errors, my 147 2.0 sele needs a new sump and downpipe (incl cat).

I think I'll fit a sump from a breakers - but can anyone advise how complicated the fitting process it? Is this something I could do myself, or is it a big hassle. If the latter, any idea how many hours it should take a garage? Is it something that a general repair place could manage, or would it need to go to an Alfa guy?

Oh, it also needs new airbags as well, but that's a topic for another day...

Thanks in advance...

Re: Alfa 147 2.0 sump replacement process

the main PITA is removing the ribe bolts at the gear box ..... buy the correct tool from ...approx £8

it'll save oyu HOURS of swearing .... i promise you.

otherwsie mind the trumpt/oil pick up as you remove & refit.... after that its logical.

also try the SEACH function for similar subject marter ... its FREE
