147,s do they hold there value ?

Hello there,

With all the independent imports around is the value of a used 147 likely to go the same way as the 156 ?

Really want a 147 but feeling a little perturbed about resale in 2 to 3 years

Bought my 147 last Oct, brand new UK car, paid 15 big ones for it. Now fancy a Selespeed & have had px values from Alfa dealers ranging from an unbelievable 9995 to 12700!
So I guess the answer to your question is they might hold their value, depending on where & how you dispose of the car when you cme to sell it.

PS. If you're interested in my 1.6 lusso, let me know!

That's the same Q I asked myself when buying and alfa 147 and this is what I told myself.

1. Do I want the car? Yes
2. Would I like to drive another alfa after this car and stick with the alfa brand? most certainly

The thing with resale value is: are you are going to trade it in on another vehicle of the same brand? If you are, then you will obviously get a better resale on your current alfa, at alfa, for a new alfa. But if you take the car into renault, all they will do is phone alfa to sell the car, alfa will give them a **** price (because they want you to buy another alfa) and you will get a crap resale value.

So i'm sticking with alfa who I know will give me a good trade in if they want me to buy a new one.

Well, that's how it works here in South Africa. May be a little different where you are and it probably only pertains to purchasing new vehicles.

You could always finance one on PCP, that way you know what its going to cost you over the term.

I just traded in my one and a half year old 147 for a new one. The 'old' one costed me € 21.500. I got € 18.000 for it when I traded it in. I Thought it was a good deal. So When you go to an ALfa dealer at least try a couple of dealerships in different parts of your country!
