Alfa GT Review on Top Gear website

Sorry if this review has been online for some time, but I've only just stumbled across it: Alfa Romeo GT expert car review verdict - BBC Top Gear

A pretty mediocre score of 11 out of 20 overall, and some odd comments, such as:

Comfort - 9 out of 20. They say that on the plus side it's "quiet" on the motorway (noise at speed is precisely what I'd say is one of the GT's weaker points).

Cool - 10 out of 20. "Still got it, but fading" - surely this is the GT's main strength? The RX8 gets 14 out of 20. Does anyone think the RX8 is cool these days?

Practicality - 9 out of 20. Again, surely the decent boot and the rear space (for a coupe!) make the practicality of the GT one of it's strengths rather than one of it's weaker points? The TT gets 12 out of 20 - is it really that much more practical?

Maybe I shouldn't be too disgruntled - the Brera fares even worse with 10 out of 20 overall....

Re: Alfa GT Review on Top Gear website

I agree, comfort should be fairly good, practicality should be very good for a coupe, the boot is large as are the back seats, as for 'cool' it should get top marks.

The downside is that it is an ageing car, that does not cut it with the likes of a TT anymore, and it should be priced accordingly.

I seriously doubt whether any more will be made anyway, they will knock it on the head in the new year.. the cloverleaf was the final final special edition.

Never got the TG website or test drive directory scores as the put the Brera well ahead of the GT in terms of practicality

Re: Alfa GT Review on Top Gear website

Is my memory that bad, or is it always on the program that when when given the choice of spending their own money, all three would choose an Alfa over whatever the competition?
Then again, the presenters don't run the web-site.

Nothing against the rx8, but I can't come up with a Japanese car with (might I say?) soul.

Same old thing. Press making comments with out any reasons to back it up. Have you seen how small a TT is inside? How can that be more practical?

It is clear that whoever is doing these reviews does it in 15 minutes watching some pictures of the car and doesn't actually test it...
