Well, a few months on i have sorted most of the problems in the list, except the power loss
It has now had a new Maf and boost controller. a cleaned EGR valve and MAP sensor + all pipe work has been checked. Problem is nowhere near as severe as it used to be, but it still struggles when put under load at low revs, and smokes badly at times, especially when cold. if i was to floor it at say 1200 rpm, it will start to accelerate normally and you can feel the turbo kicking in, but between 1500 and 2500 rpm it will loose power and hesitate a couple of times before it picks up and pulls like a train to the redline. if i gently accelerate its fine and smooth, the problem is worsened when engine is cold.
may not be related, but sometimes from cold it takes ages to start, and throws out thick smoke when it does. other times it starts instantly with no problem.
am i looking at a knackered turbo still? the garage that usually use (and trust) thought it may have an injector fault, but didn't have the software to log it.
Smaky - where bouts are you based in wilts? if i could get it up to you would you still be able to take alook sometime, you seem to be the alfagod around these parts!
