Clutch/Brake Master Cylinder Cap

I am wondering whether the cap on the Clutch/Brake master cylinder of a 147 is "ventilated'.
Reason for the query is that on and off I have had a problem with free play on my clutch. I can have problem where there is freeplay for the first 1 to 2 cms then the clutch pedal works as normal. Then after driving for several kms the free play vanishes. If the car is cold and I remove the cap off the master cylinder and depress the clutch the free play can be found to eliminated...
If the Cap is ventilated then I can see that if the "Ventilation' system is not working properly pressure might build up in the system and maybe causing the free play. But in reality nothing really makes any sense.
