Alfa GT 1.9JTD '04 reg - what diagnostic equipment is needed?
Having owned my secondhand GT since Jan 2008, I am now fairly accustomed to the odd warning message popping up on my multifunction display.
Setting aside the Motor Control System Failure attributed to a hole in one of the turbo pipes (since replaced and running like a dream), I had an 'immobiliser failure' message, which came on consistently for about two weeks then dissappeared suddenly after I had the turbo pipe replaced at Gonnella Brothers in Catford.
Anyway, I've decided that I'd like to to get my own diagnostic equipment so I can read and clear error codes, as necessary. Does anyone know what type of software and equipment I need for an '04 reg GT 1.9 JTD? I've heard of Alfadiag and Unidiag and various connecting cables but is this just for older cars. Can I buy a EOBD reader instead or is there one specifically useful for Alfa drivers?
