Help , 147 clutch problem ?????

We just picked up our first alfa 147 2 days ago , It is a 2002 model t spark with 84000 miles , last night while driving the clulch suddenly dropped to the floor and stuck there , You can reach down and just pop it up and down with your hand to full and back to the floor , no in between
Our car is now parked up a mile from home and i,am worryed about being ripped of
1. Does this mean we need a new clutch
2. How much should this cost
3. Could it be something less scary and easier to fix ?

I would be so gratefull for any advice on this as christmas is dear enough without these problems

Re: Help , 147 clutch problem ?????

I maybe wrong, but it could just been the clutch master cylinder. May need replacing, or could have no fluid.

Shouldnt be too expensive.

someone more in the know, will hopefully give a more detailed answer.

There was a recall 147/GT because of issues with a retaining pin on the clutch pedal.

That is probably the first thing to look at.
