Re: MAF Sensor woes!

Well I think I know whats going on, sort of!? When I reset the DTCs the ECU relearns all of the inputs, during this period the "i/m readiness" is incomplete and the car works fine. Once the i/m readiness changes to "ok" the car gets steadily worse but doesn't report anything wrong no does or anything on the scanner. Not sure how long the ECU needs to carry out these tests exactly but I cant keep resetting the ECU every 100 miles or so. Unless anyone has had similar problems and can offer advice it looks like its a main dealer job now?

If you've followed everything that happened to me it finally turned out to be the EGR valve, but this only applies to diesels!. Then when I got my baby sorted a **** crashed into me and lied to the court. I don't have an Alfa any more but I'm going to get another one day. If anyone is selling a mk1 147 with the 110hp engine nd 5 speed gearboxI would be very interested, but it needs to have the clutch, waterpump and ARB sorted, cos I been there and I'm too old to do them all again!!

I bought an MAF from ebay, non Bosch. Nothing wrong with the one on my car but i went to change it as normal service, same part no and the new one caused choking issues, so i chucked it out, dont trust any other than Bosch.

Check this article - Alfa 147 MAF sensor cleaning.

Tried it and worked without any problems. Be sure to check the link at the end on ECU and throttle reset.
