Alfa 156 GTA

156 Clock Springs

me again.

has anyone ever taken apart a clock spring?

i have been to see Johnny at JJB Motors about this selespeed steering wheel upgrade, and he has managed to fathom the wiring.

the only thing stopping me from fitting the wheel now is the plastic lugs at the rear of the clock spring, that sit in the steering rack area on the inside of the steering column switchgear. the new one doesnt quite fit right, this can be "fixed" by trimming part of the plastic lug back, but there also isnt a lug on the new(2004) clock spring to cancel the indicators on the 2000 indicator switchpack.

has anyone taken one apart and successfully put it back together?
