2.0 JTS Engine & Octane issue
Guys, I found an article in a local Thai newspapers relating to the octane issue and the JTS engine. I'd like to hear if such problems exist in Europe, UK, or other regions where the JTS engines have along been available.
All the 156 in Thailand are still using the Twin-spark engine (even after the minor change). Here's a paragraph from the article:
Meanwhile, plans to replace the 156's Twin Spark engine with the newer direct-injection JTS variant have hit a snag. It is claimed that the JTS unit only yields enhanced performance with a fuel octane rating of at least 98. The maximum RON available in local pumps is 95.
I'd like to hear your thoughts or experience on this. Many thanks,
