Maybe someone would find this post very useful because I have seen lots of problems with remote keys on the forum.
Anyway it all started 2 days ago when I tried to open car, key flashed OK, but car would not open. Tried few times very near windows, and finally it opens.
Car started OK, a few seconds more working with a starter, but with no problem. I knew that car battery was not at full load because I m driving last few months only at weekends....
When arrived at destination tried to lock car with remote, no luck, only could lock it manually with key in the lock.
When returned home tried other key (wanted to lock with the remote key because of OEM alarm), not working...
Changed the battery in the key, still not working
Tried searching on Alfaowner
to find any solution, found that it could be because of the low car battery
Next day, went to a car, car battery completely shot!!!!
No blinking light on the console when car is locked, when car is opened display not working....
Bought another battery, installed, and everything is working without any problems, both remote keys working!!!
The best thing is that I had in last 4 years few times VDC error, ABS error on cold days and EVERY time it was because of the low battery!!! (but not very low - tested).
Charged it , and 147 works OK, no error whatsoever!!!
This time I had no ABS, VDC errors, and car would start OK with any bigger problems, it was flat battery in just 2 days, .
Hope this info would be helpful for other Alfa owners.
