The Alfa Induction Ceremony & Suspension Noise?

Hi all - bought my first Alfa and already I need some advice. Its a 2005 GT 1.9JTDm. High mileage but all 'was' fine, full service, looked after well, felt tight to drive.

Now... only 3 weeks later... after leaving it standing for 2 weeks whilst I went on holiday I have been inducted into the Alfa Owners life of car related problems.

1) Flat battery - so jumped the car. No further problems yet - lets see if it starts after leaving it for a couple of days over Christmas.

2) Loss of low down power - Can someone tell me when their 1.9JTDm starts to pull? Mine now doesn't start to do much until about 3250rpm and is useless on the motorway. Time to clean the EGR valve I think. Hope its not the turbo! (it does feel like there is a little boost spike at about 3500rpm).

3) Sqeeking front suspension over bumps - Now I specifically checked the ride, and that the bushes were good. After about a week of driving it around locally its now making a squeek from the front over bumps (speed bumps especially) and starting to feel loose. I'm going to attack the bushes with some rubber treatment spray to try and cure the squeek but can someone guide me in the direction of the probable bush? Is there one weak one??

Thanks for your help.

Re: The Alfa Induction Ceremony & Suspension Noise?

Squeaks are normaly upper wishbone bushes drying out spraying them will only Temporarily cure it they are relatively cheap to replace if you can really be bothered re-bush them with a polly kit form ebspares.

Loss of low down power could be MAF but i don't know much about the JTD I' sure someone will beable to push you in the correct direction if i'm wrong.

good luck
