When getting quotes remember that its not just the cam belt that gets changed. Some places that don't know Alfa' s may quote for just the belt.
You need the cam belt, idler and tensioner changed. If it is a 2.0 TS you also need the balance belt and the tensioner changed.
The idlers and tensioners have plastic rollers, and if they break they cause the same damage as the belt going. Also, a balance belt coming off can do the same damage if it throws off the cam belt, so they all get done at the same time.
It is also a good idea to change the variator at the same time, although they are about £100. When you first start the car up.... if it sounds like a diesel for a few seconds the variator definately needs changing.
