When I bought my 156 it had a set of mixed 185/65x15 tyres on the standard alloys. I found the steering a bit sensitive to inputs leading to a bit of a ‘twitchy’ drive. With my MOT approaching I knew I needed some new tyres and I got a chance to buy a set of Alfa alloys complete with a nearly new set of Maxxis tyres, 205/60x15. Now I know that Maxxis are just cheap Chinese imports, but this has transformed the handling of the car, presumably because of the wider section. The twitchiness has gone and replaced with nice predictable responses. Presumably if I ever get round to buying some decent tyres it would be even better!
