My 2.5 V6 156 has developed a really annoying missfire, which only seems to occur when the engine is warm. basically, I travel 16 miles to work, and about 8 miles into my journey I get a missfire, which seems to be the whole way up the rev range, and obviosuly noticeable under load. When it began to do this, I pulled over, and it was also clear that the car was struggling to idle (400rpm thereabouts), but mysteriously a mile down the road, it cleared and drove like a dream.
My car has done 77,000 miles - the AFM was replaced at 49,000 miles as far as i can remember, although I am not sure if the lambda sensor has been replaced (sorry I am at work so no access to service history!) - these seem to be the most likely candidates at fault in my opinion - but I may be wrong, so any guidance would be great from anyone!
