error code P0340 - 156 2.5 V6
My 2.5 V6 - P0340 error code problem is "Timing Sensor above maximum limit"
Engine is idling with a very loud knocking noise.
It loses power on high speeds.
Some times I can hardly start engine (after trying 3-4 times), but some times it starts perfectly.
As I already learned on this forum, it's about timing sensors.
At this time, I have already found 2 sockets near the battery. one is green and other is blue. From the first (green) socket wire goes down and is pluged somewhere under the engine, near the gearbox. And the other wire, from the blue sockt, does not go far, and is pluged in the engine, under the throttle body.
Both wirings seem to be OK at first look.
I tried to start engine with disconnected green socket but it wont start.
Then I disconnected the other (blue) plug and car started. THough, it gave no difference. It is working the same way.
Can you tell me which is the sensor that we have to blame?
I can order those sensors, but I can not order them, before I know exactly which sensor is damaged.
