Idling saga - fan resistor?
I took my 156 to an electrician to find out why my internal fan isn't working. Turns out the fan resistor has packed up. I did not have it replaced as I had to order it (5 days before delivery) and they had in the meantime removed it. Now I'm used to having my car idle at 800/900rpm, but since the removal of the resistor, it idles at about 1500. I did the ECU reset and it tends to settle at 1000 but only sometimes. Any ideas to get it back to a smooth idling 800 would be appreciated. Electrician only shrugs his shoulders suggesting that he could remove the fault codes which he will have to charge me for, of course.
