Re: what to look for in an ***** Romeo 156 1.6 TS
as the way prices are for tuning, you probaly wont get any further than a sports air filter. I put a K&N on mine, and it made a real good growl when putting my foot down. But if i could turn back time id try the BMC CDA as vids on youtube made it sound even deeper.
I was exactly like you when i 1st got my alfa, then eventualy i realised there wasnt much point spending loads on a 1.6 when theres people with a standard bigger engine that would still out do me.
Now its my turn to say, wait till you have a bigger engine :-P
You can put a turbo charger on a 1.6 and have it push out 180bhp (from autodelta) but a 1.6 wont last that long till you get problems with over strained parts or even break or worse blow something up and we all know alfa isnt cheap to replace parts with the labour. Oh and yeah... the turbo charger will cost you a couple of grand!
Best to just make it smart. Apart from K&N i gave mine some 17" wheels and a sound system. Use it for cruising and when you can upgrade to a bigger engine.
All the best
You want something sporty with class? Buy an Alfa Romeo. *cough* GT
