Sorry to hear about this. I've never heard of a waterpump failure on a TS engine, this is extremely rare. Personally I would only change the waterpump on my Spider every 72,000 miles, just to be on the safe side. And if this had happened to me I would have complained to ARUK first before getting it fixed. I think there would have been a strong case for them to meet at least some of the bill, if not all of it.
And with all cambelt breakages, even travelling at 20mph, I would not dismiss the possibility of bottom end damage to the engine. It may not be evident now, but it may transpire down the line. Even at this late point I would still consider contacting ARUK for advice. After all, they are supposed to be there to help!
