156 CV Knock???

Strange one this-I have a 156 2.0 sportwagon selespeed, 2001, 100k on the clock.

When I reverse down the drive in the morning, I put the car on full left hand lock and do a 3 point turn to to turn the car around in the morning.

When the car is cold and the outside temp is in single figures, I get a CV type knock on full lock. A couple of times i've pulled onto a car park within a mile a tried a 3 point turn, but no knock. Do these cars have limit slip diffs? I wondered whether they had and the oil needs to warm up.

I can't understand why it only does it within 1/2 mile of starting the car and only when it's cold!!

Re: 156 CV Knock???

No they don't have limited slip diffs. Could be a knocking / creaking from the front suspension bushes - very common on 156s especially at low temperatures......

A CV knock would in all probability get louder as things warmed up, I would have thought.
