Re: Oil change and filter help please
Warm the engine up,
Raise the front of the vehicle and support,
Place a container under the sumplug and remove the plug,
When the oil stops driping refit the plug with a new sea,
Now disconnect the aircon pipe brackets from the fwd engine mount and subframe and move the pipes out the way gently and you'll see the oil fiter half way up the back of the engine.
Remove the filter and lower it through the filter sized hole you just created.
Using some fresh oil, wet the rubber seal of the new filter and fit it hand tight.
Refit the aircon pipe brakets.
Lower the car and fill the engine oil back up.
Start the car and allow it to idle for a few minutes.
Wait till the engine cools again and then top up the oil to the full mark.
10 - 15w 40 Semi synth is the better choice of oil, but should you not be able to get the semi then multigrade is safer than the engine killing fully synth. Fully synth oil seems to react with the nitride coating and breaks down too easily, it's been shyed away from in the aero industry due to too many premature ehngine bearing failures.
