Loads of fuel, ¾ tank.
Started perfectly last night, when stone cold.
Made a round trip of 120 miles to pick up my son.
Check light came on for a few miles, the going off again.
Check light on and off at random, without any pattern to be noticeable.
Once it’s running, it pulls like a train.
The car overall is in good nick, everything works as it should.
Most vital parts being replaced within the last few months.
New clutch, new turbo, new shocks all round, Angel Tuning chip fitted, all with bills to prove it.
Set of 17 inch GTA wheels where fitted for good measure.
Cam belt was done by Alfa main dealer at 120k; the car has now 136k on the clock.
Halfords Calcium Battery has been fitted last year too.
Only problem we ever had; the rev counter stops working when going over some pot holes, slap on the dashboard and its back up (but that only happens when going on a long motorway trip).
We bought the car as an “Interim Solution” to sit out the credit crunch, some 8 weeks ago.
The reason why the last owner sold the car was, he had twins on the way so they gone for an estate car.
I used to be a Lancia Mechanic myself, but a health problem forced me to retire from the motor trade some 15 years ago.
Still if the urge comes I take the spanners myself now and then, just can’t help it.
