Re: Alfa GT Wind Noise
There's a few tips I've picked up from reading on these boards that might be worth trying out:
1) reset the windows: start the car and whilst sitting in neutral, wind the driver's side window all the way down and hold the button down for 10 seconds after it's bottomed. Then put the window all the way up and hold for 10 seconds again. Repeat for the passenger's side (using the control on the DRIVER'S door). This is especially useful at the moment since if the windows are iced up, when you come to open the door they might not move as far as they should (they drop a small amount to allow you to open the door). It's worth trying resetting them, especially if you find that the window noise is worse if you drive, put down the window, and then up it back up again.
2) rub a little bit of vaseline around the top rubbers of the door frame (where the window meets the car's chassis). I've seen it suggested, I've never tried it myself. Pretty self-explanatory.
3) wind your window down, close the door (standing outside of the car), and gently lean against the top edge of the door on each side - there was a member on here a while ago who swore this worked for him!
