Looks like I have the same problems.
Car lost all power, like my Angel Map has been removed.
At 3000 rpm the engine check light comes on, once the rpm drop below 3000 engine check goes off.
Had it all to bits; All turbo pipes out, EGR cleaned, had MAF disconnected (no change).
I wonder if it could be something simple as clogged fuel filter.
Once you ask for power it appears as it would like to go but runs out of fuel.
There is some hesitation at times as well and it misfires.
Turbo bearings have no play and the vanes adjuster can be moved by hand.
Turbo itself is only a year old at the most.
Bypassed the solenoid at the slam panel to check that too (pipe from the metal vacuum pipe straight to the turbo) no change.
All started on the motorway going at around 70mph.
Engine check light flickered a few times and we lost all power, car almost stalled.
Bad vibration from the engine at the next red light like it runs only on 4 cyl.
At home stopped the engine and restarted full power was restored until we hit 3000rpm.
Since then the power never came back.
At start up and rpm’s below 3000 the engine check light stays off.
Now the question is;
If the fuel pressure drops because the filter is blocked, that would trip the engine check light, wouldn’t it?
Once I drop the rpm the partly blocked filter would “catch up again” and fuel supply is restored and the engine check light goes off.
Does this sound plausible?
