I had a similar ticking noise which was fixed on a camblet service which, as it was a 2.0ts, also involved changing the balancing chaft belt/tensioner and one other belt which was rattling and causing the ticking noise.

Your dealer should check belts on the 36K 3 yr service, although according the dealer, most don't do as there is not enough time in the std service schedule.

Hi firebid,

do you still hear the noise when you turn off all electrical items (lights/ac/etc)?

Take a look at THIS site

I know it,s all in Dutch but maybe you can put it in a translate machine on the web
The story is that some bolts on the magnesium support piece are loose.
There are two ways to get near them, that is remove your windshield eek! or remove your dash eek! eek!

I don,t think it,s a big problem (ticking noise)
Ticking noise in my 156 sounds like shaking a paint bus.
