Which alarm is it (Factory/Meta)
Mine UK delivered 156 SW had a Meta alarm installed by Alfa GB at point of sale .. as opposed to the factory alarm .. i don't know why. This alarm has a dongle which you can turn the alarm off with (in the glovebox).
In my experience, when the Battery goes flat or is removed the alarm triggers (it has it's own battery) as it thinks the car is being tampered with in some way that it's not been told about (and indeed it is).
The missus has also been able to get in the car, drive off and have the alarm going (hazzards blinking) - dunno how she did that (get in), but resetting the alarm solved it. Imobiliser is factory fit.
