We were all set to change our '06 147 1.6 TI for a MiTo but after seeing one in the flesh decided it wasn't for us, both of us prefering the 147 Ducati Corse sat beside it in the showroom.
Given the value (or lack of) of the TI, it didn't look like it would be viable to change for anything like a reasonable amount of money.
But to make a long story short, David Whitton at Piccadilly worked out a deal for us and we nipped down to Knaresborough last weekend to pick it up.
A night-time drive back up the motorway to Edinburgh in the freezing fog wasn't exactly the best introduction we could have had to it, but it's usefully quicker than the TI even under normal driving conditions, and I reckon it'll be a good little car.
The seats are great, and although the look of it (the go-faster stripes and the red paint round the wheel) isn't everyone's cup of tea, I think it's just
the right side of tarty. It was Ghiaccio White when we picked it up, and again briefly last Sunday...
I nearly bought my 159 from David and he's come good again for the 147, so a big thanks to him - very patient, enthusiastic, and seems like a really decent guy.
