Re: 156 V6 that Starts, Cuts, Starts, Cuts so on and so on.....????
i took yor advice and dived into the relay box.
i didn't find anything grubby or of a condition that would make a poor connection, BUT, i did find the INJ relay, rightly or wrongly, to be different to the rest?
it was a metal bosch item unlike its neighbours which were all black plastic, so i suspected that this had been replaced at some time, maybe evidence of a historic issue???
anyway, the bosch relay was a five pin design, (single pole double throw if my memory serves me correctly?) but the socket for it has only four pin connections (single throw?), so i thought this a tad odd and again further evidence of a previous repair.
however, i had new relays hanging around, of both pin designs, so thought it cannot hurt to stick a new one anyway, so did just that with a four pin design relay.
It has behaved itself since, well, the last 24hrs anyway, and i made it across to my diagnostic man who promptly plugged me in and no surprise found MAF codes, but this is very likely because ive had it unplugged and plugged a hundred times or so!!!
fingers crossed, it may have been the injector relay becoming lazy or tired, perhaps just not latching over to its correct settled position or something???#
we'll see, only time will tell....
thanks for the pointers so far, but please keep them coming just in case, and i'll let you know the outcome
