Re: Creaking and squeaking and now.....
there are many parts in the front of a 156 that can cause a squeek or rattle.
* upper wishbone ball joints or bushes ---> generally replaced as an entire unit as the 'ball/socket' get worn & cannot be bought seperately
* lower wishbone ball joints or bushes ---> generally replaced as an entire unit as the 'ball/socket' get worn & cannot be bought seperately
For NEW wishbones the bushes *can* be replaced if you ahve a hydraulic press or can be bought with uprated bushes.
Fitting of new wishbones involves a fair bit of work & a good few tools required
* drop links, very easy to replace, wheels off, hacksaw off the old units, put on the new, 17mm socket.
* Track Rod ends
* Anti Roll Bar [ ARB ] bushes wear out & the anti-sway collars tend to crack allowing the ARB to slide from left to right & visa versa.
I sell a 'poly' bush & 'split' collar KIT for such replacements.
4 hours work with the right tools.... no pit required if you read my thread how to "replace bushes without dropping sub frame"
Really thats its for squeeks.
When you go into the realms of vibrations & more serious sounds you could be talking drive shafts, wheel bearings, worn pads on discs, loose wheel bolts, even as simple as a balnce weight hitting a strut or caliper.
From you description it sound slike oyu have a combination of issues.
get a competent mechanic to check ALL ball joints & bushes before spending any more cash on your car.
If you need uprated 'poly' arb bushes & 'split' collars, let me know by PM.
