Re: New to Alfa's, Never Again. GT con rod busted
I feel for you norwichworker, in my experience, dealers/ warranty companies will do anything they can to wriggle out of a claim. The smallest technicality they can find on the service paperwork will be dragged up as a reason to invalidate a warranty.
Happened to me on a VW Bora and the current 147, it was a struggle to get anyone to pay up but they will do their best to wriggle out of it.
Warranties have always been a struggle, needless amounts of paperwork, bureaucracy, smokescreens and mirrors, delaying tactics once they admit they'll pay, it's a minefield of smallprint. They've paid out but it wasn't easy. The local garage here has stopped dealing with warranty claims after the hassle they get trying to settle claims.
