engine parts interchangeability

i have a "scrap" 2.0 engine from a 156, can anyone tell me if the parts from this will fit a 1.8 i would like to change the sump and maybe some other parts.
The 2.0 is scrap because it was driven about 50 miles with the bottom end knocking (not by me!) i would like to rebuild it but i`m not sure if the block is any use because of the fact that it was driven so far. I suppose the only way to find out would be to take it apart and measure the crank journals and then examine the block for wear or marks consistent with a crankshaft or conrod hitting it?
Can anyone please advise?

Engines by Alfa, prices by Fiat, design by God – that's the 156. Whichever engine you get.
