Selespeed Gear Stick intermittent fault

I gave in the mechanics and got a new selespeed pump installed last week. The pump now runs and primes beautifully. However...

now the manual gear shift has an intermittent fault. It is touch and go whether I can get it into 1st or reverse. Once it is in, then the manula shift sometimes works, sometimes doesn't and I cannot change gear. However the paddles on the steering wheel always work once I can get it into gear.

Any ideas? Is this a sensor issue? Or is something more sinsiter that will really ruin my Xmas.

Any ideas greatly appreciated....

Re: Selespeed Gear Stick intermittent fault

Aren't the micro switches under the lever, in the transmission,(or whatever it is called in FWD? ) sometimes erratic in operation? Only asking, but someone may know.:
