Not so much torque at the top end but there's a lot more power at the top and a wave of torque down low. It's all delivered a lot better too, 3rd gear feels like 2nd and it's a lot easier to hit the red line.
Worth keeping an eye on the clutch, standard clutches aren't really up to holding all the torque together. Mine's been slipping for about a year, I know I'll have to get it changed for an uprated one soon. Accelerating from low revs in 5th or 6th and letting it build up will slip the clutch but changing down a gear gets over the torque and into the power band. I have to feed the accelerator in slower, let the turbo work its magic and the car takes off like a rocket, no good stamping the accelerator to the floor and waiting for it all to happen.
