I have a 156 2.5 V6 - very poorly..probably my fault entirely..
I let it run VERY low on oil, took 4 litres to fill it back up to maximum. Since then it is having a temperature problem, going from 50 to 95 and then all over the place, mostly staying 90-95 with the fan whizzing away. Also I have the dreaded squirty hose warning light coming on at junctions, when I stop, it comes on for a second or two. Is this some management diagnostic thingy for the fuel? Next problem, it's running sluggish, like when you are running out of fuel, and the worst problem is it doesn't like 2nd gear, when I slow for a bend in 2nd it decides to cut out and stall, steering locks..great fun, nearly ended up in some guy's garden the other day. It also stalls for now reason. When I pull up to parked traffic I am in 2nd, I put the clutch in to put into 1st, but before I can get it into 1st it has stalled. Does anyone know what I have done?? I don't think running low on oil was good, but I didn't get an oil warning light till the last minute, when I checked I noticed it was completely out of oil and I appear to have a small leak from the front rocker cover. Also when I was trying to investigate the over-heating problem, the front block is warm (hot but able to touch) the back block is scalding, also only one fan appears to come one. (do only two come on when it gets hotter than 95?) sorry for all the questions, hope someone can help with some of them. Many thanks x
