Hi all, I have been reading all the posts from other owners about the problems they are having with their selespeed's and using it to try to get mine fixed but no such luck.
I have my 2002 147 for about 9 weeks now and after the 4th week it started showing 'selespeed system failure' continuously with 2 beeping sounds althou the car drove fine. When I start the car and leave it on idle, the beeping/warning will come on every 4 seconds. If the engen was off ant the ignition was on MAR, the relay would click every 15 seconds followed by the beep/selespeed warning.
I have replaced the battery, changed the selespeed fluid and blead the system. After all of that I finaly gave up and sent it to a mechanic here in Cape Town, South africa. The car was at his workshop for about 3 of the 9 weeks I have the car and on return of the car, the selespeed warning was still there. Now last night I sat a bit with it and changed relays, checked wirering and looked for any leaks but found nun. Now after starting it up the selespeed warning + Motor conrol failure comes up and it will only shift into 1st and 2nd gear. Im sure it must be a relay or sensor but im not sure wich one and the chances of getting it on an alfadiag is slim here by me.
I also discoverd a broken cable under the steering wheel but it was diferent to the rest of the cables. It is a round black cable with a grey square connector on it. I could not find the place that this was broken or where it is suposed to be pluged in.
Please assist as this is going to drive me mad!!!!!!!!!!
Any comments will be apreciated.
Ps... excuse the long post....just venting frustration...
